Anne Harwood Nee Harris

1946 – 2025

Anne, a lifelong Rossendale Valley resident aged 79 of Lea Bank Estate, passed away peacefully after a long and hard-fought battle with dementia on Saturday the eighth of November.

Anne attended St. Anne’s Junior School, Whitewell Bottom Senior School and Alstons Secretarial College in Burnley. She worked in the Valley offices of James Hargreaves, Bacup; Sir H. W. Tricketts at Gaghills and Lambert Howarth, Waterfoot before retiring to start a family. She was later financial manager of The Testometric Company in Rochdale where her husband Keith was joint director and she was responsible for domestic and export shipping documentation, payroll,pensions and personnel.

Anne was an avid traveller and had visited more than a third of the world’s countries participating in both cultural and active holidays. She was Hon. Treasurer of Rossendale Ski Club for several years and skied regularly with friends and family, including all four grandchildren. In later life she enjoyed cruising and holidayed on both conventional cruise and sailing ships.

Anne leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Keith, son Simon, daughter Katy, Daughter-in-law Candice, son-in-law Daniel and grandsons Oliver, Maxwell, Harrison and Sebastian and eleven loving nephews and nieces.

A service and committal will take place on Friday 28 November at Accrington Crematorium at 11.00am.
