Fred Hamer Funeral Services offers bereavement counselling
As a standard part of our service, we are proud to offer professional counselling and grief support for the clients we are privileged to serve.
We aim for our counselling service to be as flexible as possible, arranging to meet you either at your home or at our premises, and at a time that suits you best. You can rest assured that all conversations are treated with the strictest confidence.
Anyone who has lost a loved one will be familiar with the different stages you can go through.
Shock and Disbelief
Sometimes, people experience a feeling of calm, as though nothing has changed. You might experience numbness and feel unaware of life going on around you.
Sadness and Helplessness
You can feel sad and helpless, unable to do normal everyday things.
You may feel insecure, anxious and afraid of what is happening around you. You may wonder how you will cope without your loved one.
Anger and Guilt
Why has this happened to me? A feeling of guilt is not uncommon if you were not present at the time of death or you feel that you could have done more.
It can feel overwhelmingly hard to carry on. You can’t function in the normal way and feel you are losing your way.
During these sad times it is good to have the support of your family and friends, but often people feel that they need more professional help and advice.
It can be easier to talk openly to a person who is independent of yourself and your family. The aim is to help you to move on and continue a normal happy life with cherished memories.
We will help and support you anytime you feel you may need it.
